For those who are football fans like me, you must have noticed not once, but several times some football matches that generated some kind of doubt, especially when some situations that clearly should have been identified as irregular, the referees pretended to be who were blind, even with the help of VAR, we thought things could improve, but what we see to this day is that there wasn't that much of a difference.

For those who don't know, in the last season of the Brazilian Championship, better known as Brasileirão, Botafogo was leading and without a doubt had the best season of all time in terms of points run in Series A, it is logical that the second round needed to be finished almost all, but based on the performance that the Rio team did, everything led to the belief that Botafogo would have the best and biggest championship of all Brazilian teams.
The coach was Portuguese Luís Castro and had an incredible campaign with 80 games, 42 wins, 15 draws, 23 losses and a performance of 58.7%. But after Cristiano Ronaldo's invitation to play for his club in Saudi Arabia, the Portuguese didn't take long to accept and honestly, any mortal wouldn't give up on that invitation, right? Even after coach Luís Castro left, everyone at Botafogo was confident that they would continue their work.
After having an interim coach, the also Portuguese Bruno Lage was chosen to be the new commander of Botafogo. But after the defeat to Flamengo, which in my opinion, Botafogo began to stumble and destabilized after that, and the Portuguese coach at the time in his press conference after the match, practically left his position at the disposal of the board just because of the defeat suffered by Flamengo.
Without a doubt, this already demonstrated that things were not so good there. He didn't last long in the position and was fired. The most curious thing about all this was that if Botafogo managed to win the Brazilian title, it would be the first Serie A champion club to have 5 changes of coaches. It would be absurd, as this number of command changes would be more obvious in clubs that are in the relegation zone.
After the historic match against Palmeiras that ended 4 x 3 for the team from São Paulo, Botafogo had a 14 point lead in second place and each match was defeat after defeat showing that the squad was completely destroyed from within. Palmeiras was the champion of the last edition of Série A and in my opinion it was on merit and they knew how to make the most of their opportunities.
John Textor's Complaints About Game Manipulation
The owner of Botafogo was not confirmed with the loss of the title, it was clear to him that something happened. It is true that there are refereeing errors, but not just for Botafogo but for practically all teams in the competition. Arbitration is not professionalized and there is no formal contract in Brazil. "Amateurism" will always exist and this is great for club managers, because when their team loses and does poorly, the blame always falls on the refereeing.
Regarding arbitration, in the past the lines that decided the offside were not shown since the analysis began, fortunately today it is possible for anyone to follow the VAR technical team when drawing the lines of attack and defense of the offside. For Textor, after the end of the Brasileirão, he said he would investigate the irregularities that occurred in so many Brasileirão matches. The point here is to realize that it is not just Botafogo that was allegedly harmed, but according to the American businessman, there were several matches with supposed irregularities. In the last 4 months, John Textor investigated together with the French company Good Game, and it was found that 99% of this company is convinced that manipulation took place in the Brasileirão.
This is serious and I believe that at this moment it is not time for fans to be club fans and ignore the fact that what Textor is doing may be right, as it would not be logical to make all this noise for nothing.

The Supposed Manipulations
I am sad and at the same time not surprised by these things that involve corruption, because we are talking about Brazil, the country that becomes famous every day for being a corrupt country and for tolerating impunity. Just knowing that John Textor prepared a "book" with more than 100 pages and sent it to the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation), the highest body in our football, in just one day he filed the complaint. This shows how much the CBF doesn't care about something that, if actually proven, is very serious.
The CBF has political public relations, as it has senators and deputies who are linked to the CBF. That is why it is important for Textor and his team of lawyers to be very attentive because of the politics that could harm the investigation. Recently there was an operation and they managed to identify several players who participated in result manipulations, but matches and if players from both Serie A and B were caught, I don't think it's so difficult for there to be the possibility of having referees also involved.

Para quem não sabe, na temporada passada do Campeonato brasileiro, mais conhecido como Brasileirão, o Botafogo liderava e sem dúvidas fazia a melhor temporada de todos os tempos de pontos corridos da Série A, é lógico que o segundo turno faltava terminar quase todo, mas pelo desempenho que a equipe carioca fazia, tudo levava a crer que o Botafogo faria o melhor e o maior campeonato de todos os times brasileiros.
O técnico era o português Luís Castro e mantinha uma campanha incrível com 80 jogos, 42 vitórias, 15 empates, 23 derrotas e um aproveitamento de 58,7%. Mas após o convite de Cristiano Ronaldo para jogar em seu clube na Arábia Saudita, o português não demorou muito para aceitar e sinceramente, qualquer mortal não iria desistir desse convite, certo? Mesmo depois da saída do técnico Luís Castro, todos do Botafogo estavam confiantes de que fariam a continuação de seu trabalho.
Depois de terem um técnico interino, o também português Bruno Lage foi o escolhido para ser o novo comandante do Botafogo. Mas após a derrota para o Flamengo, que na minha visão, o Botafogo começou a tropeçar e se desestabilizou depois disso, sendo que o técnico português na época em sua coletiva após a partida, praticamente deixou seu cargo à disposição da diretoria só por conta da derrota sofrida pelo Flamengo.
Sem dúvidas isso já demonstrava que as coisas por lá não estavam tão boas. Não durou muito no cargo e foi demitido. Sendo assim, sua passagem pelo Botafogo foram 10 jogos, sendo 3 vitórias, 4 empates e 3 derrotas, um aproveitamento de 43%. O mais curioso nisso tudo era que caso o Botafogo conseguisse o título brasileiro, seria o primeiro clube campeão da Serie A em ter 5 trocas de técnicos. Seria um absurdo, pois essa quantidade de mudanças de comando seria mais óbvio em clubes que estão na zona de rebaixamento.
Após a partida que se tornou histórica contra o Palmeiras que terminou 4 x 3 para a equipe paulista, o Botafogo possuía 14 pontos de vantagem do segundo lugar e a cada partida era derrota atrás de derrotas mostrando que o elenco estava completamente destruído por dentro. O Palmeiras foi o campeão da última edição da Série A e na minha opinião foi por méritos e soube aproveitar mais as oportunidades.
Denúncias de John Textor Sobre Manipulações dos Jogos
O dono do Botafogo não ficou confirmado com a perda do título, ficou claro para ele que algo aconteceu. É verdade que existem erros de arbitragem, mas não só para o Botafogo e sim para praticamente todas as equipes da competição. A arbitragem não é profissionalizado e não existe carteira assinada no Brasil. O "amadorismo" sempre irá existir e isso é ótimo para os dirigentes dos clubes, pois quando sua equipe perde e vai mal, a culpa sempre recai para a arbitragem.
Sobre a arbitragem, antigamente não era mostrado as linhas que decidiam o impedimento desde seu início da análise, felizmente hoje é possível qualquer pessoa acompanhar a equipe técnica do VAR ao traçar as linhas de ataque e defesa do impedimento. Pelo menos isso foi mudado, mas diante de especulações que percebi da mídia, edições do VAR no impedimento também foram motivos de indício como manipulações.
Para Textor, depois do fim do Brasileirão, ele disse que iria investigar as irregularidades que aconteceram em tantas partidas do Brasileirão. A questão aqui é perceber que não é apenas para o Botafogo que supostamente foi prejudicado, mas segundo o empresário americano, houve diversas partidas com supostas irregularidades. Nós últimos 4 meses, John Textor investigou junto com a empresa francesa Good Game, e foi constatado que 99% essa empresa está convencida que aconteceu manipulação no Brasileirão.
Isso é grave e acredito que nesse momento não é hora dos torcedores serem clubistas e ignorar o fato de que o que Textor está fazendo pode ter razão, pois não seria lógico esse barulho todo para nada.
O empresário garante que tem provas para mostrar e é claro que não irá mostrar tudo para a mídia para não prejudicar nas investigações.
As Supostas Manipulações
Fico triste e ao mesmo tempo não surpreso por essas coisas que envolvem corrupção, pois estamos falando de Brasil, o país que a cada dia fica com fama de ser um país corrupto e que tolera a impunidade. Só o fato de saber que John Textor preparou um "livro" com mais de 100 páginas e em iou para a CBF (Confederação Brasileira de Futebol), órgão máximo do nosso futebol, em apenas um dia arquivou a denúncia. Isso mostra o quanto a CBF não está se importando com algo que se for realmente comprovado, é gravíssimo.
A CBF tem relações públicas políticas, pois tem senadores e deputados que são ligados à CBF. Por isso é importante para o Textor e sua equipe de advogados, estarem bastante atentos por causa das politicagens que podem prejudicar na investigação. Recentemente houve uma operação e conseguiram identificar diversos jogadores que participaram de manipulações de resultado, mas partidas e se jogadores tanto de Série A e B foram pegos, não acho tão difícil de existir a possibilidade de ter árbitros também envolvidos.
