Maybe you who don't live in Brazil must be aware of what is happening in the southern region of the country, especially in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Many rains caused flooding in hundreds of municipalities and more than 1 million people were directly or indirectly affected. It is being considered one of the most tragic events in the history of Brazil.

The losses so far are unimaginable, as many places have not yet dried out and remain flooded. After several days, many people are stranded waiting for rescue and imagine the situation of children and elderly people without essential care and without water and food in their homes waiting for rescue. It is undoubtedly something very sad and constantly, firefighters, the armed forces and tens of thousands of volunteers search for people and animals who are in this terrifying situation.

But the point of this article is to expose divergent thoughts from people who are or are not affected by the floods. We recently had a Madonna concert in Rio de Janeiro sponsored by both the city hall and state government and by private companies and the question that remained open was whether or not this event should have really happened.

Despite many questions to the contrary, the show took place. Anyway, Madonna simply fulfilled what was in her contract and it could not be undone and the curious thing is the things said by the media. It can be seen that the traditional media has no real idea of what is happening in Rio Grande do Sul and thanks to X, it is possible to see that things are much more serious. Without a doubt, for those who live there, they know how desperate it is to lose their home, car, animals and places devastated by water.

I believe that football should be the last thing to think about and worry about at the moment, but for the southern clubs Inter, Grêmio and Juventude who were affected, their opinions were that Brasileirão should stop. Some team presidents were even pertinent in asking the CBF and Alberto Guerra, president of Grêmio, was more direct on the matter:

I'm of the opinion that it should stop at least the next round, maybe two. But the situation is very serious. Some were in favor. If all presidents were in our situation, they would think the same thing. But they aren't, so they can't get the true dimension. Some were in favor, some were silent and others wanted to follow more, they were reticent. There's still a lot to improve here

Alberto Guerra also said that if this had happened in the regions where the axis is located, that is, in the cities of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, things could be different. The treatment for the championship to stop could be something to be debated. What is happening in the south is very different from other tragedies that have happened in the country, but without wanting to compare it to Madonna's concert, football could be put to good use so that charitable actions could take place and attract more people.

As is the case with Botafogo, which has already started selling tickets for the Libertadores match and will be receiving donations. This type of action is very important at a time like this and it is very likely that more clubs will follow this measure. Other clubs in series A and B have also started campaigns for donations through PIX to SOS Rio Grande do Sul.

Clubs such as Flamengo, Corinthians and São Paulo have already said that their facilities and stadiums will be available to affected clubs. Although the CBF has already given Inter, Grêmio and Juventude 20 days not to play their Série A matches, the clubs will need physical and mental preparation for the rest of the competition.

Things really aren't easy, there are many people wanting to be the master of reason, but I imagine that with the championship in progress, without any interruption, there could be more charitable actions for the affected families, as it will not be easy to rebuild the flooded cities and much less for the people who, in their vast majority, lost practically everything.

Talvez você que não mora no Brasil deve estar sabendo do que está acontecendo na região sul do país, principalmente no estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Muitas chuvas ocasionaram enchentes em centenas de municípios e mais de 1 milhão de pessoas foram afetadas direta ou indiretamente. Está sendo considerado um dos eventos mais trágicos da história do Brasil.

As perdas até o momento são inimagináveis, pois em muitos lugares ainda não secaram e permanecem alagadas. Após vários dias muitas pessoas estão ilhadas aguardando por um resgate e imaginem a situação de crianças e idosos sem os cuidados essenciais e sem água e comida em cima das casas esperando pelo salvamento. É sem dúvidas algo bastante triste e de forma constante, bombeiros, as forças armadas e dezenas de milhares de voluntários buscam por pessoas e animais que estão nessa situação aterrorizante.

Mas o sentido desse artigo é expor pensamentos divergentes de pessoas que estão sendo afetadas ou não pelas enchentes. Recentemente tivemos um show da Madonna no Rio de Janeiro patrocinado tanto pela prefeitura e governo estadual e por empresas privadas e a pergunta que ficava aberta era se realmente esse evento deveria ou não ter acontecido.

Apesar de muitos questionamentos contrários, o show aconteceu. Enfim, Madonna simplesmente cumpriu o que estava no seu contrato e não pôde ser desfeito e o curioso são as coisas faladas pela mídia. Percebe-se que a mídia tradicional não tem noção real do que está acontecendo com o Rio Grande do Sul e graças ao X, é possível ver que as coisas são muito mais graves. Sem dúvidas que para quem vive lá, sabe do quanto é desesperador perder sua casa, carro, animais e lugares devastados pela água.

A Preocupação com o Futebol

Acredito que o futebol deveria ser a última coisa a se pensar e se preocupar no momento, mas para os clubes do sul Inter, Grêmio e Juventude que foram afetados, suas opiniões era de que o Brasileirão parasse. Inclusive alguns presidentes das equipes foram pertinentes ao pedir isso para a CBF e o Alberto Guerra, presidente do Grêmio, foi mais direto sobre o assunto:

Eu sou da opinião que deveria parar, no mínimo, a próxima rodada, talvez duas. Mas é muito grave a situação. Alguns demonstraram ser favoráveis. Se todos os presidentes estivessem na nossa condição, pensariam a mesma coisa. Mas não estão, então não conseguem ter a verdadeira dimensão. Alguns foram favoráveis, alguns silenciaram e outros querem acompanhar mais, se mostraram reticentes. Ainda falta muito para melhorar aqui

Alberto Guerra também disse que se isso estivesse acontecido nas regiões onde estão o eixo, ou seja, nas cidades do Rio de Janeiro e São Paulo, as coisas poderiam ser diferentes. O tratamento para que o campeonato parasse poderia ser algo a ser debatido. Isso que está acontecendo no sul muito diferente de outras tragédias que já aconteceu no país, mas não querendo comparar com o show da Madonna, o futebol poderia ser bem aproveitado para que ações beneficentes pudessem acontecer e atrair mais pessoas.

Como é o caso do Botafogo que já iniciou suas vendas dos ingressos para a partida da Libertadores e que estará recebendo doações. Esse tipo de ação é muito importante para um momento desse e é bem provável que mais clubes seguirão essa medida. Outros clubes da série A e B também já iniciaram campanhas para doações pelo PIX para SOS Rio Grande do Sul.

Clubes como Flamengo, Corinthians e São Paulo já disseram que suas instalações e estádios estarão disponíveis para os clubes afetados. Apesar de que a CBF já deu 20 dias para Inter, Grêmio e Juventude não jogarem suas partidas da Série A, mas os clubes precisarão de preparo físico e mental para o restante da competição.

As coisas realmente não estão fáceis, existem muitas pessoas querendo ser o dono da razão, mas eu imagino que com o campeonato em andamento, sem paralisação, poderá surgir mais ações beneficentes para as famílias afetadas, pois não será fácil a reconstrução das cidades alagadas e muito menos para as pessoas que em sua grande maioria perderem praticamente tudo.
