It’s certainly a weird time for the Pac-12. The days of the Pac-2 are long gone and the new version is trying to find its footing with a bunch of Mountain West teams. But Boise State and San Diego State are both powerhouses in their own right, so the on-field product shouldn’t suffer too much. But the brand recognition is a whole different thing now. I agree with you on Gonzaga, once they get football added, the conference will reach that 10 team mark and feel more like a traditional Power 4 group again.

You are right to use the term Power 4 at the moment when traditionally it always has been the Power 5 (Big 10, Big 12, ACC, SEC, & PAC 12). Right now, I don't consider the PAC-12 to be part of the Power 5 with these former mountain west teams who don't play teams from the other power 4 conferences.
