Bayern Munich nuked Barcelona. Biggest humiliation I have ever seen in the Champions League.

I was expecting today's match to be exciting but I certainly wasn't expecting a historic beating such as this one. 2-8! This team scored 7 goals against Chelsea but it was in 2 matches, they also scored 7 goals against Barcelona in 2013 but again, it was in 2 matches. Today they scored 8 goals in 1 match!

Bayern Munich was the favorite from the beginning due to their physical superiority, but there was always the small chance that Barcelona and Messi could have a good match and beat Bayern against all odds. That didn't happen, not even close.

The superiority that Bayern showed today was even bigger than their superiority against Barca in 2013. They scored 4 goals in the first 31 minutes and another 4 goals in the last 30 minutes. Between the minutes 30 and 60 Bayern didn't score and Barca was able to score 1 good goal from Suarez.

It felt like anytime Bayern wanted to score they were able to do it easily. I also think that after their 4th goal in the 31-minute mark they decided to play slowly to save some energy for the second half.

I believe this leaves Bayern as the favorite team to win the Champions League but I did notice their defense was a little bit clumsy and in fact, one of Barca's goal was an own goal from Alaba. A team that is also physically powerful such as Manchester City could easily compete vs Bayern and perhaps even beat them.

Barcelona was physically and mentally not just defeated, but also destroyed and nuked! This marks the end of an era for them and a lot of important players will probably leave the club. It was so much fun watching this game and I hope Bayern keeps the same attitude and strategy in the semifinals!

The next match will be between Manchester City vs Lyon. City eliminated Real Madrid applying high pressure to Madrid's defense similar to what Bayern did today against Barca, which is why I think a potential semifinal between those 2 should be super interesting. Lyon defeated CR7's Juventus which was a surprising result, but they will probably have a hard time facing Man City.

Today's match was historic, I hope the next one can be at least half as entertaining.
