The Relegation Zone Battle

Source

Everyone has been curious about the teams that are going to finish in the top four this season in the EPL, I have also made a lot of posts on the teams going to finish and the team that will bottle their chances of finishing in the top four. But today my eyes came across the bottom three and was surprised to find out that zone already has a competition on its own.

The 18th to 20th spots on the table have Nottingham Forest sitting in the 18th place, Leicester City sitting in the 19th place and Southampton taking the last position on the table. Nottingham Forest returned to the EPL this season in hopes of remaining in the league and competing next season. They were active in the transfer window to strengthen their squad and have been doing good this season, but it has not been enough for them to escape the relegation zone completely.

Nottingham Forest is currently 27 points behind Leicester City and is even on points with Everton who are in the 17th place of the table. Tomorrow Nottingham Forest will face Manchester United at home and hope to get a point or win the match to get out of the relegation zone. They have the advantage to beat United because Manchester United will be missing some key players tomorrow, so it is the perfect opportunity for Nottingham to strike.

Leicester City has been horrible this season and is on the verge of saying goodbye to the EPL at the end of the season. They finished playing 3-1 against Manchester City in the Etihad Stadium. The Foxes need to step up their game if they want to continue playing in the EPL next season, it will be a shame to see them play in the championship next season.

Southampton finished in 15th place last season and now finds themselves in 20th place on the EPL table, nothing changed from the team, no improvement, but still, the same fight just to stay in the EPL which should not be a priority each season. I wish them well in the championship next season. Let's see how it all plays out in the coming weeks for the teams in the relegation zone. So guys that will be all for now, thanks for stopping by, and have a goodnight.
