I didn’t actually watch the match but just as you have said we have all seen this before in the premier league. So what I don’t know is whether the rule France claim to exist ( once a game has ended you can’t cancel a goal again) only applies in the world. So I think they were right to appeal either way we will all learn something valuable.
Whatever the outcome the rules would be clarified so as to prevent future mistakes.
This time round I don’t think it was a mistake. In fact I think most of the decisions made in the World Cup are not mistakes and even though we might see them to be a bit controversial they have been deliberately on for a long time. One thing i like about all this is that they don’t waste a lot of time.
