In the end, it's a very dangerous Bayern side I must say. My team came out trumps, but let's be honest about Bayern Munich today.
They come with a ferocious press system, great passing, then they can suddenly switch to dangerous long balls to attack, then ofcourse their devastating counters.
Then there's the individual brilliance of folks like Olise, Diaz[suspended],Kane and Mr Neuer. They also have a never-say-never mentality, amongst other things.
WHAT DID ARSENAL DO?
Olise didn't have a bad game at all, yet overall, he couldn't hurt Arsenal much.
It's the story of this Gunners side. You may play well and still not do enough to hurt this team.
1] Arsenal had to avoid that press of theirs, like leprosy. Raya often used long balls to good effect.
2] They had to be alert to those Bayern's dangerous long balls and snuff it out. Still one such long ball, gave Bayern their only goal.
3] Arsenal choked the passing lanes with their usual movements that confuses the opponents thereby preventing those devastating counters, Bayern does so well.
They looked out to stop Kane and Olise with all the might ànd gusto they could muster. And when Olise was beginning to embarass Skelly, quickly Skelly was hauled off for Calafiori to come in and stabilise things, which he did and gave the assist for the crucial second goal.
Well if Diaz was there, that would have been another problem for Arsenal, but Bayern has no excuse, they were well beaten by a superior team.
I know they will be better next time.
