RE: Arsenal's Season : Success or Failure?

My pleasure.

Yup mine is beyond hope for Arsenal, there's an attitude to work, to statistical data, plus those things I mentioned above, that gives me assurance.
On Liverpool and Man U, they have great coaches, which is crucial. As for Liverpool, mental fatigue(especially),injuries and a bit of deadwood, were their problems. You can see they will be ruthless in their spending this summer, deadwoods are already been shipped out and mentally that freshness is returning.

United will be United in their spending, so there's every reason why they should improve.

I say that, continuity is the bane of many clubs and I think big clubs, in the last one or two years, are beginning to learn that. See if Solksjaer had stayed on till now, he would have been doing quite like Arteta. Infact he was doing better than Arteta when he was around, the problem was the sudden Ronaldo inquisition that summer. Not that Ronaldo is a bad player, but good coaches(and great clubs) plan things well ahead of time( that is why Arsenal has signed a coach, months back, who would resume this summer).

Solksjaer only had a plan for Sancho, which the club bought and ofcourse the dressing room had foreknowledge of what to expect in the summer( Ronaldo wasn't on the list). The coming of Ronaldo, unsettled things, especially the spirit of the dressing. Solksjaer danced to the tune of the club on Ronaldo and to his credit, he did try to fit in Ronaldo at all cost, but ofcourse it didn't work, it wasn't in the original plan.

What am I saying? It's nice to see the Klopps, Ten Hags continue their projects. I expect it to be a four-way battle, at the top too.

Cheers

I reminded a dude last Saturday that Man United came second only to City before Ronaldo showed up out of the blues. All Solksjær requested for was a right winger and a central defender, which he got in Sancho and Varane. Suddenly, Woodward went mad, got tricked by Jorge Mendes and signed a guy that wasn't needed. We all saw how it ended.

I can only hope Ten Hag will be persistent enough to get the exact players he needs for his system. That's the first stepping stone to success, getting the exact tools. I believe United would've probably had a better season if they got Frenkie de Jong instead of Erikson.

As for Arsenal, I will watch their progress next season. I just hope this last minute failure won't break the spirit of those young dudes.

Oh twas even second? That tells the story much better! Yeah and Verane,I was focusing only on the attack.

Yeah probably on Frenkie. Frenkie was very willing to work with his dear former coach, but there's something called a dream home– he just couldn't resist the allure of staying in a club, that is a club of his dreams.
@deniskj so your radar hasn't located this discourse on your dear club?🙂

So yeah, I hope the best for Ten Hag, now he has a more relaxed atmosphere to plan, unlike the last summer.

Nice insights you give.

Cheers

I agree with @mckane's sentiments on United, although he is a bit diplomatic on Arsenal's pathetic collapse.

I always said, Ronaldo was a terrible signing. He destabilized everything that Ole had built. We really needed a CDM and if we got a Casemiro, I just wonder how much better we would have been.

I am just hoping Qatar's bid wins. Ten Hag will have the resources, facilities and support he needs to actually compete with City. He has worked wonders already with the shells he received from that caretaker manager that shall not be named.

Nice you arrived. Lemme quickly do my send-forth party for the Arsenal captain here in Hive.

Though Arsenal collapsed, I think they can look back at this season after all the disappointment and give themselves some credit. They really deserve one. Needless to say, Ferguson's Man United once thrown away an eight point lead with just eight games to go. They regrouped the following season and won the league. I hope to see Arsenal competing for the top next season.

As for the Qatar's bid, those Glazer leeches are not willing to relinquish control of the club. They either milk it dry or sell it an exorbitant price. That's probably the reason why Ratcliffe is their favourite for the deal. And that's why the Qatar dude had to submit another improved bid despite the others not doing so.
