Why Chelsea is still the best club in the world? @ogochi

Run down on the latest around Chelsea Football Club (BTW MY FAVORITE CLUB)

Hey there, hivians.

It’s a beautiful day out here where I reside. The sun is out, the air smells good (I think) and everywhere seems just nice. Speaking of beautiful, there's this beautiful game called FOOTBALL. Some might call it soccer but I mean everyone is entitled to their own opinions and beliefs right? Bottom line, football is very dear to me and more especially Chelsea Football Club the best club in London A.K.A Champions of Europe A.K.A Champions of the World. Sitting on 3rd in the league table as it stands, certainly doesn’t fit the description but at least we have the trophies to show for it.

Getting down to business, Chelsea just got trashed 1-4 at home by our not so noisy but buzzy next door neighbors A.K.A The BEES A.K.A Brentford FC at Stamford Bridge (our home ground). This was the first match after the all-round international break mainly concerning World cup qualifiers. The last time we faced Brentford back in October last year we suffered mightily at their hands thanks to their organized pressing of the ball, coordinated passes in the final third, pace-fueled attackers, and astounding midfielders with an eye for a really good pass. I obviously watched the most recent fixture live yesterday and I can say that Chelsea did ultimately play well although not as well as we all know they can play, but Brentford were disciplined and well drilled coupled with the quality of Christian Eriksen in midfield(the Danish player who suffered a cardiac arrest at the concluded EUROS last year).

I honestly do think the manager Thomas Tuchel is to be blamed for the loss, because he started with a formation the players were not used to, and exposed our midfield and backline respectively. He also didn’t start some of our main in form players thus far like: Christian Pulisic who I like to call ‘Captain America’ and Mateo Kovacic who later came late on as a substitute(another error by Tuchel) to create 1 key chance and have a pass accuracy of 94%. I’m obviously no coach and have never even played professional football but I think the reason behind the manager’s ‘supposed’ errors was THE ULTIMATE MATCH AGAINST REAL MADRID in a few days time.

The UEFA Champions League Quarter Finals 1st leg is coming up for Chelsea this week and Chelsea who were last season’s winners faced REAL MADRID in the Semi-Finals and beat them 3-1 over the course of two legs. REAL are obviously going into this match seeking revenge and they have the quality squad to pursue their aim, but I personally think that will make them vulnerable. Why? Because, Thomas Tuchel the Chelsea manager is a big game specialist and is dubbed ‘The master of knockout football’ in England (I mean rightly so because he has reached the final of every single Knockout competition while he has been in charge of Chelsea in the one and half years he’s been at the club). So, basically I am saying Real Madrid will meet a very tough side also given the first leg of the tie is at Chelsea’s home STAMFORD BRIDGE.

Nevertheless, Chelsea Football Club is also still sort of sanctioned by the UK government because of former owner Roman Abramovich and the process of finding a new owner after the former owner Roman was dismissed from being the all-round boss of the club. Three candidates or some consortiums are the front runners to purchase the club. I will get down to their names and details as well as information about the three prospective new owners in my next post.

Laters gators!
