English team take on Spanish team in the final of the Europa League for the first time since Sevilla beat Liverpool 3-1 back in 2015/16. Spain have a great history with this competition and a club from their nation has made it to 8 of the last 12 finals and haven't lost a single one of them. However, we are backing Man Utd to beat Villarreal on the 26th of May despite each of the previous four meetings between the pair ending goalless.
We're also backing over 2.5 goals to be scored in this final as three of Villarreal's and five of Man Utd's last six matches (as of the 21st of May) have seen at least three goals scored. Villarreal won their last match 4-0 against Sevilla and Man Utd's last game against Liverpool produced 6-goals, so you can see why we're expecting at least three goals to be scored in this season's Europa League final. Man Utd have played much better away from home than they have in their own backyard this season and we're backing the Red Devils to continue that trend by beating Villarreal with the allotted 90-minutes. We're also backing both teams to score in what should be an open final with plenty of goalmouth action as each of Man Utd's last five matches in league and cup have ended with both teams finding the back of the net.
With United breaking the spell of not getting over Spanish teams this season by beating Real Sociedad 4-0 away at the round of 32 stage, so I am expecting a win and over 2.5 goals from this match.
