Conference League
Cercle Brugge, my favourite football team played the last game in the qualifiers for the Uefa Conference League. Last week, we won 1-6 in Poland against Wisla Krakow. So things would have to go very wrong tonight for us not to qualify.
But, our coach was a bit cocky, and decided to start the game tonight with a B-squad, with all due respect to the players that started.
So much arrogance got punished and we were down 0-2 at half time.
Eventually we lost 1-4 but got qualified on aggregate.
Weird, but we “won” by losing 1-4…
It sucks a bit, but in the end, we have 6 more European games to look forward to!
