KKR won their first match of IPL 2023 against RCB at Eden Gardens by a huge margin of 81 runs. RCB, who were chasing a challenging target of 205 runs, could only manage to score 121 runs and were all out. Varun Chakaravarthy and Suyash Sharma were the top wicket-takers for KKR with 4 and 3 wickets respectively, while Sunil Narine took 2 wickets, including the prized wicket of Virat Kohli. Shardul Thakur also contributed with 1 wicket by dismissing Michael Bracewell. KKR's Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Shardul Thakur both scored fifty, and Rinku Singh's quickfire 46 helped KKR to reach a total of 204 for 7.

KKR's victory in the match can be attributed to their exceptional performance, especially by Shardul Thakur and Rinku Singh, who managed to get RCB on their nerves. Although KKR seemed to be in trouble after Russell's dismissal, Shardul completely changed the game, and the KKR spinners did a fantastic job of controlling the game until the end.

To make KKR one of the strongest teams in IPL, Mandeep should be dropped, and Jason Roy should be brought in. KKR already has a new mystery spin trio to create a spin-choke in the middle, so they do not necessarily require a foreign pacer. Additionally, Vaibhav Arora should be included instead of Tim Southee, and the team has multiple all-rounders to cover any remaining bases. With Umesh Yadav batting at number ten, KKR has a formidable batting lineup.
Meanwhile, RCB seems to have reverted to their original form after their good performance in the last match. Although fans were initially hopeful, today's match was a disappointing performance, and RCB is now back to their vintage Haarcb form.

Amazing innings by Lord Thakur, probably the best of the IPL to date. Looks like KKR will be preparing pitches at Eden Gardens to help their spinners this season. Hopefully Jason Roy will get a game, he's the kind of player that when he's in form, he's great and when he's not, he's awful!
