I saw a meme the other day that stated that "in other news Americans are stunned to find out that Cricket is a sport and that their nation plays it!"
There is actually a professional league in the US but I would be willing to bet that it isn't very popular. I have no idea though.
I think the US is importing a lot of its talent, but if it ever did take hold there I'm sure the US would go well. Pretty difficult to nick hitting talent from baseball though.
there is nothing at all similar between cricket and baseball. I had a go at batting (in cricket ) a couple of times in my life and because I learned how to bat playing baseball it was very difficult for me to NOT stand there in a baseball stance. Protecting the wickets is very different than trying to avoid 3 strike balls :)
