Hi Sportstalksocial family! It's been a minute since I posted on here . My team's performance at the end of the season really did leave me speechless and lost for more words to say . That being said , as an Arsenal fan you can't just be given the license to remain mute because the team will just let you rant one way or the other. I'm quite certain true Arsenal fans can relate to this .
It's no longer news we qualified for the Champions league after 6 long years of absence from Europe's most elite club competition. The team had a tremendous season in the last campaign finishing second much to the dismay and disappointments of the fans . This was of course as a result of how were top of the league table for so many weeks only to let our guards down at the penultimate period of the season when it really mattered it the most .
Most definitely there's no point crying over spilled milk at this point . Unto the next one ! . Ordinarily considering how we fared last season , one would expect the team to get really fierce and aggressive in business attaining to the transfer market. To our greatest surprise, not much has really been done . In this light , one just wonders what the Arsenal board has up their sleeves .
Still no replacement for Granit Xhaka as we talk . To be quite honest, I still cannot wrap my head over the news of we offloading Thomas Partey . At a corner of my mind I still hope Partey leaving Arsenal is just child's play . Selling Partey for me without an outright bolstering replacement will be a huge blow no doubt.
I also find it difficult why Arsenal can't just seal deals on time but rather prefer stalling always . Words on the streets says Caicedo is about to be hijacked by Chelsea.
This is a player linked to Arsenal since last summer who can provide that cutting edge to our midfield. For some reasons it's look like we will be losing the golden opportunity to recruit him .
Another obvious case of the stalling attitude of the Arsenal board is the Declan Rice transfer saga . Westham were clearly asking for a price of £100M initially for their star man. Arsenal have had two bids rejected with the east London outfit holding out for a guaranteed £100million and the bulk of the money paid up front.
West Ham chairman David Sullivan earlier this month said that Rice will be allowed to leave this summer after leading the club to Europa Conference League glory.
The latest offer from Mikel Arteta's side was turned down on Tuesday, which saw Arsenal bid £75m plus £15m in add-ons.
That was a club-record offer form the north Londoners, with Nicolas Pepe's £72m transfer from Lille in 2019 their current biggest ever signing.
At this juncture, I just wonder why the team can't just take the bull by the horns and sign him(Rice) as soon as possible before he gets in the radar of other teams purposeful in the transfer market. It's even speculated that premier league champions, Manchester City might be interested in him as well..
Moving forward, I feel Arsenal really need to tidy their loose ends if they actually want to go challenging for major titles come next season . We need formidable signings to boost the team's confidence as well as build on the foundation set last season and not mediocre ones . I really wish we're on the right track to achieving this feat.
