This was a solid read and great content in the SPortsTalksSocial community. I've given you a follow with my SPORTS curation account so as to see and curate more insightful and quality contents.
Unfortunately looking at the trending page of sportstalk is quite depressing at the moment with the first ten posts being,
On this, it's a gradual process. The Hive end of the trending page has been cleansed and is quite awesome. More hands are needed as volunteers to help build the community. Cryptoandcoffee is doing a great job as well as other individual users.
There is much potentials that are lurked in SPORTS. Also, there is a bunch of great work underneath and I hope soon, a road map would be published. More interesting is the fact that private investors are keenly working on building games and other utility tools that would create more demand for SPORTS. I am anticipating their work to begin in the 2021 Q1.

I agree that it is a process but it will need direction to get there. incentive for people to use their votes wisely and help the site grow. Over time more manual voting and a wider spread of stake should make a huge difference but for now i think it needs a push in the right direction.
Moderation works well on the second layer and can help kick start the growth of the tribe by encouraging smaller users to engage.
I know that @dbuzz has a max payout on it's posts and it could be an idea for actifit posts as well. Set a limit at 5k sports or something to clean up the site a bit. There are always options to improve the platform.
This is interesting and would be welcomed when they begin. More use case is always good and a way to branch out to more people.
