oh wow you would've gone Dempsey? Would love to know your reasons.
Man, Jozy Altidore was such a let down. I was pumped and had huge expectations when he went to Sunderland. Without cheating and searching it, I'm pretty sure he scored 1 league goal in 30+ EPL appearances?
He then went to the MLS and absolutely smashed it!
I don't remember where Jozy played in Europe before he went to Sunderland, I think it was somewhere in Italy and he also might have played in the Dutch league. Like I said I don't really follow the sport anymore. But the point is that he was just OK in those leagues as well. It's funny to me that so few Americans are able to shine in top level leagues but like you said, he smashed it in MLS but couldn't really accomplish anything in Europe other than to disappoint.
My reasons for choosing Dempsey is likely rooted around his performance at Fulham and how he was basically the anchor for that team. Also, I feel as though Donavan choked in intl play a bit more often than he should have. I just feel as though Clint was more well-rounded. Not taking anything away from Donovan and when he was on loan with Everton I believe he turned some heads and really showed he was talented... It's a pity that because of his MLS contract that he couldn't get more time over there, I think that really would have gotten more Americans interested in EPL. It certainly did that for me for a brief time.
