10. David Beckham

David Beckham joined LA Galaxy in 2007 and changed the league forever. His arrival alone helped transform the MLS into one of the best soccer leagues in the world. His arrival created the Designated Player rule nicknamed the "Beckham rule".

The rule allowed teams to compete in the worldwide soccer market for star players by having three players outside a teams salary cap.

Beckham appeared in 98 MLS games and scored 18 goals. He was one of the most deadliest players delivering from a set piece and won two MLS Cups with the Galaxy.

9. Jeff Agoos

One of the best defenders in MLS history is Jeff Agoos. The hard tackling centre-back womn five MLS Cups - three with DC United and two with San Jose. Agoos won the MLS Defender of the Year Award in 2001 and inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009.

8. Carlos Valderrama

Attacking midfielder Carlos Valderrama has the greatest hairdo in addition to being one of the best MLS players of all time. Valderrama had a total of 114 assists in 177 matches. His 26 assists in 2000 is the record in a single season and seems almost impossible for anyone to beat.

7. Zlatan Ibrahimovic

In 2018 Zlatan Ibrahimovic made his debut as a substitute appearance in the first ever El Trafico derby, one of the biggest MLS rivalries. Ibrahimovic scored twice - a 45-yard goal which was goal of the season and a stoppage time header - to help the Galaxy come from three goals down to beat rivals Los Angeles FC 4-3.

Despite playing well into his late 30's Ibrahimovic will go down as one of the best MLS players of all time finishing with an impressive 53 goals in 58 games.
