A loving greeting to all my Hive friends. It gives me great pleasure to be once again with you, sharing another of my experiences with my motorcycle. As some of you already know I have had an Empire Keeway Owen 150 CC for a few months, in a short time we have ridden 1800 kilometers and we are thinking of stopping. It is the first time that I have a motorcycle like this for my transfer person and it has been wonderful.
Well my bike is a 2024 and is the first owen that comes from the factory with a digital dash. This sounded great at first, a bright led display with the information in digital turns out to be very attractive. The problem is that in contrast to the main headlight of the bike it almost had more light on the display than the headlight. This made it very difficult to ride at night, as the display dazzled you while the headlight did not illuminate the road sufficiently.
The solution was simple, we put smoked paper on the dashboard display. Both the digital and the analog part. We went to one of the places in our small community, that although it seems funny combines the sale of stationery and haberdashery with the labeling for motorcycles. There we were served by a very young guy, a bit shy.
He showed us two types of paper one very dark and the other lighter. As we were desperate we told him the darker one, he recommended us to choose the other one, but our reason was clouded and we told him the light one for the analog part and the dark one for the digital one.
The boy agreed unconvinced. As this is very common around here he already had the perfect measurements for the board. He only had to cut them with a cutter. He cleaned the screen of the dashboard and when it was impeccable he put the paper. With an electric dryer he gave heat to the paper while rubbing it with a cloth.
When it was adhered to the glass, he began to remove the bubbles with a plastic spatula. It was very interesting to watch this process that took no more than 20 minutes. When it was finished we walked around and realized that indeed the paper we chose for the digital screen was too dark so we had to go back and have the guy change it.
The two parts of the board were left with the same paper. At night we did a test drive on a very dark road and the change was noticeable. I was no longer blinded by the light from the screen. I was really happy.
They are small details that in my case only had a cost of 1$ but that provide a lot of comfort when driving. We also changed the headlight, but unfortunately I could not record the process because it was in a family home and out of respect for their privacy I decided not to take pictures.
I am very happy to be changing things on the bike to ensure better driving and safety when taking the road. Soon I will bring you the addition of some extra lamps that we plan to put on it. Since the roads around here are really dark. In addition to the fact that sometimes we transit agricultural roads that have less conditions.

Un saludo amoroso para todos mis amigos de Hive. Me da mucho gusto estar una vez más con ustedes, compartiendo otra de mis experiencias con mi motocicleta. Como algunos ya saben tengo desde hace pocos meses una Empire Keeway Owen 150 CC, en poco tiempo hemos rodado 1800 kilómetros y nos pensamos parar. Es la primera vez que tengo una moto así para mi traslado persona y ha sido maravilloso.
Pues bien mi moto es del año 2024 y es la primera owen que viene de fábrica con tablero digital. Esto sonaba genial al principio, una pantalla led luminosa con la información en digital resulta ser muy atractivo. El problema es que en contraste con el foco principal de la moto casi tenía más luz la pantalla que el foco. Lo que hacía muy difícil conducir de noche, ya que la pantalla te encandilaba mientras que el foco no iluminaba lo suficiente la calle.
La solución fue sencilla, le pusimos papel ahumado en la pantalla del tablero. Tanto en la digital como en la parte analógica. Fuimos a uno de los lugares en nuestra pequeña comunidad, que aunque parezca gracioso combina la venta de papelería y mercería con el rotulado para motos. Allí nos atendió un chico muy joven, un poco tímido.
Nos mostró dos tipos de papel uno muy oscuro y el otro más claro. Como estábamos desesperadas le dijimos que el más oscuro, él nos recomendó que escogiéramos el otro, pero teníamos la razón nublada y le dijimos que el claro para la parte analógica y el oscuro para la digital.
El chico accedió poco convencido. Como esto es muy común por acá él ya tiene las medidas perfectas para el tablero. Solo tuvo que cortarlas con un Cutter. Limpio la pantalla del tablero y cuando estaba impecable puso el papel. Con un secador eléctrico le daba calor al papel mientras lo frotaba con un paño.
Cuando estaba adherido al vidrio empezó a sacarle las burbujas con una espátula plástica. Fue muy interesante ver este proceso que no tardo más de 20 minutos. Cuando termino dimos una vuelta y nos dimos cuenta que efectivamente el papel que escogimos para la pantalla digital era muy oscuro por lo que tuvimos que regresar para que el chico lo cambiara.
Las dos partes del tablero quedaron con el mismo papel. En la noche hicimos una prueba conduciendo por una carretera muy oscura y el cambio fue notorio. Ya no quedaba ciega por la luz de la pantalla. Me sentí realmente feliz.
Son detalles pequeños que en mi caso solo tuvo un costo de 1$ pero que brindan mucho confort a la hora de conducir. También cambiamos el foco, solo que lamentándolo mucho no pude registrar el proceso porque fue en una casa de familia y por respeto a su privacidad decidí no sacar fotos.
Me alegra mucho ir cambiando cosas en la moto que garanticen una mejor conducción y seguridad a la hora de tomar la carretera. Pronto les traeré la incorporación de unas lámparas adicionales que pensamos ponerle. Ya que las carreteras e por aquí son realmente oscuras. Además de que a veces transitamos vías agrícolas que tienen menos condiciones.
