There's a proverb in Yoruba land. Yoruba is a tribe in the south-west part of Nigeria, West Africa. The proverb says, never empty your water jar because of sign of rainfall. Come to think of it, why should one empty his/her water jar just because of a SIGN OF RAINFALL???
The reason is simple, signs of rainfall does not mean rain was actually going to fall. But do you know that as simple or obvious this reason is, some people still tend to make this mistake either consciously or unconsciously thereby not taking things really serious because they felt things will still come back in the right way. I meant throwing away all the water in their jar, thinking rain would fall because of the signs it had given out. You too could be making same mistake. You asked how? I'd show you how.....
Here are some little mistakes we do that we do not care about;
- I'd get another money, let me spend this one.....
- I'd get another customer, you can go buy your stuffs somewhere else.....
- I'd get another relationship if you go, you care too much.....
- I'd get another interview if I miss this.....
- I'm expecting something huge 😁, I don't care about this one.....
With these little points I have shared with you all, you will see that It's very good to be optimistic, but been optimism doesn't work if you empty all the water in your jar, I meant the opportunity you have at hand, for no genuine and reasonable reason. We should not take every chances we get so cheap because you never can tell what might come out of it later. If you behave rudely or handle your job with levity, thinking you'd always get another job, then you will know when you loose the one you have at hand, it might likely take a lot of time to get another one. When you treat your spouse or that special person that cares about you anyhow thinking there're plenty fishes in the river 😁😁 when you don't even care about the one you have at hand now, then when you loose that valuable person, you would know their worth..
If you don't have a savings plan or invest, thinking you'd always get another one, if you don't take your business serious thinking if you fail you can start all over again or you have a solid backup. Don't be surprised that the rain might not later fall again despite the signs it had given. All these together are here to teach you a big lesson because you will learn from this mistakes one way or the other. Never allow those this you have with you go before you will values them because you might not have the opportunity to get them again forever..
So, never throw away any opportunity, no matter how small,the small might be a big thing sometimes thinking you'd get another one, don't spend lavishly, thinking you'd get another one and never waste your time because you think there's lot of time. Make good use of the water you have in your jar, I meant the opportunity you have because you might not be opportune to have access to another opportunity of its type. See every opportunity as your breath, make good use of it!!!
