Thanks to @qurator; this is a whole new level of food photography contest; not just a wonderful food post but with a specific ingredient and recipe as well! To find out more about this contest, check out HIVE TOP CHEF!
This week's Hive Top Chef Ingredient is BREAD.
To be honest, I hadn't planned for this dish nor this post; yet somehow, it came together perfectly.

I did my grocery shopping last Friday at Co.Op Mart and on the long shopping list was a loaf of bread & 2 trays of eggs. Of course bread cannot last long so I had to improvise it to ensure it doesn't get mouldy and spoil. Thankfully, it was my work-from-home day and knowing that I had a long list of To Dos to complete, I decided to make myself some French Toast. And it became my breakfast, lunch & afternoon tea.
Ireenchew's French Toast Recipe
5 slices of white bread
3 whole eggs ( beaten )
2 tablespoon brown sugar
Oil for frying
Steps
Cut the four-sides of the bread and then cut into half.
Using a large round bowl, break all the eggs in it.
Add in the sugar and beat well till slightly fluffy.
Heat up the flat frying pan and pour in the oil.
Once the pan is heated, turn the fire to mid level.
Dip the bread piece by piece into the egg liquid, soaking both sides.
Put it onto the pan and allow it to fry on both sides for about 1 min.
Once done, remove and place it onto a nice dish and it's ready to enjoy !
Key notes
i. Use brown sugar, it's less sweet
ii. Always use fresh eggs.
iii. Keep the fire at mid range if not the bread gets burned like mine😆

You might think that this is a simple dish and anyone can do it. So, no big deal. It's true yet this dish reminds me very much of my family. It's one of their favourite breakfast menu choice and my husband is really good at this with his very own secret recipe; till now, I still have no idea what it is.
So, making French Toast today reminds me of home and just how much I miss them. As the saying goes, it's not how lavish or expensive the dish is but what memories and emotions the dish brings to you when you eat it.
That's the 5* Michelin Award all about!

Thanks so much @lizelle
I once watched a movie and the Chef A cooked a simple steamed rice with fried egg compared to another Chef B who cooked a masterpiece dish. And yet Chef A won because he's dish was filled of love and brought back so many sweet memories. Of course it was a comedy but I believe it's true.
Sometimes the most simplest dish is the most delicious because it's the closest to our heart
