Qurator's Monday Missions | DIY - Recycle a Pizza Box

in Qurator • 3 years ago

Hello to all HIVE friends 💕 I'm here leaving my participation in the @qurator Monday mission, this time the mission is to make something with our own hands, and if it is recycling, better so I, as a recycling lover, could not resist and I gave an excellent use to a pizza box that I did not want to throw away.

At home we have a giant dictionary from a Larousse collection very appreciated by my mother, she must have been with her for about 27 years so I had the brilliant idea of giving her a second life. The dictionary had no front or back cover, it was completely disassembled and almost no one used it so as not to finish destroying it.

Then this pizza box was transformed into something wonderful...

The first thing I did was cut out the top of the box based on the fold and shape of the lid itself, so I took the measurements from the dictionary, measured and marked about 14 cm wide and 20 cm long and it was exactly enough with the top lid of the box.

I cut both parts of the cardboard taking into account the necessary fold to glue the spine.

Before gluing the outside parts, it was necessary to glue an 8 cm piece of cardboard to cover and protect the spine and make the dictionary lose its shape.

And on that spine already well glued, we place with great care and force the pieces of cardboard already cut.

And the first impression is not so pretty but we can cover this part with a piece of cardboard of the same size. I used the outer side of the box because I found it very practical to take advantage of the pizza box's own design.

And in this way the dictionary was like new!

It is completely practical, useful and 100% made with recycled materials. The only thing I added at the end was a tag to identify it. You don't have to be an expert to carry out a similar project.

I really liked the result of my recycling project and I hope that you too will be encouraged to recycle, to give a new use to the things that you think are lost and to be creative with our hands. I invite my friend @marivic10 to join this wonderful contest.
