This photo is my entry in the Qurator’s Photo Quest of this week, the topic is Frontlines. The rules of the contest can be read here.
I have to admit the the topic of this week it is a difficult one to interpret. According to the dictionary the main meaning of “frontline” or “front line” is
”The military line or part of an army that is closest to the enemy”.
So I tried to stick to this definition and searched in my photo collection to look for some photos that could be adapted to this meaning. So I decided to publish this photo of the Korean War Memorial at Washington DC. It shows the statues of a platoon at this war in life size wearing the regular combat gear used in this war.
The camera that I used was a Sony DSC-F717 and the image was processed using Gimp.
Con esta foto estoy participando en el concurso fotográfico de esta semana organizado por @qurator, cuyo tema es Frontlines, que puede traducirse como Primera lineas o Vanguardia. Los reglas del concurso se encuentran en este enlace. Debo admitir que este tema es difícil de interpretar. De acuerdo con un diccionario de inglés, el término “frontline” significa: “La parte del ejército que se encuentra más cerca del enemigo”. Busqué en mi colección de fotos tratando de encontrar una imagen que se adaptara a esta definición. Por lo que decidí publicar esta fotografía del Memorial de los Veteranos de la Guerra de Corea en Washington DC (EE. UU.). La imagen muestra un grupo de esculturas de un pelotón de soldados en tamaño natural, llevando el uniforme y equipo de combate de esa guerra.
