So... I am back home after a few days off. That also means I am at my laptop instead of my phone, which is a major improvement for me. Plus, I wanted to keep things at a minimum while I was away.
Why "sort of"? Well, if you have a daily work routine that is disrupted for even a few days, you know getting back to it is not the easiest thing to do. Plus, there's a ton of things to catch up on, which will take me some time, and I still need to rest some more.
What made me pay attention these days was the crypto pumps that started shorted after I left. Of course, I was happy to see them, but at the same time I needed to check to see if my orders would get hit and if I needed to make some emergency changes to them from my mobile. I certainly would have preferred to be at my laptop when I made such decisions. Luckily, no intervention was needed, but I'm glad to see BTC above 100k, ETH awaken from the dead (and maybe signalling that an alt season is possible), HIVE and SPS on the rise too, among those I kept my eye on (especially the last two).
Since I mentioned SPS, we are a few hours to the end of Conclave Arcana, and I see quite a few more packs have been purchased and probably more will be until the end. I'm thinking to buy a couple more too, since Midnight potions gave me the funds to do it. It's unlikely the presale will be sold out, but some good sales were made. I saw a message in discord a while ago, even before I went away, that the SPS DAO investment in the new set broke even then, a few days before the presale ended, so without counting for future sales from the presale or general sale. Seems like a very good investment for the SPS DAO!
Since I am at Splinterlands, let's start my mobile-friendliness impressions from there. Note that I haven't tried out the app, only the website from the Keychain browser. I was mainly interested to produce and sell more Midnight potions, and that process didn't work. I could claim my aura, but couldn't sign the transaction to craft it into Midnight potions for some reason. Speaking of the things I haven't done, I need to apologize to my teammates for forgetting to add Brawl matches. Sorry guys!
I know Ecency has probably the only general-purpose front end on mobile for Hive, but for the small interactions I needed, I used the Keychain app (to power up), the PeakD website to briefly check on my feed, and HiveDex.io to check on HIVE chart on the internal market and my orders. The latter worked well until yesterday (I think), when something broke at the chart and couldn't see my orders either. There were probably alternatives I could use if I needed to, like HiveHub.dev, but the up movement calmed down at that time so I didn't need any immediate action.
From the games, among the complex ones, Moon worked without a glitch. TerraCorre and Crownrend also worked, and so did Holozing, but for the latter all I had to do was to claim my rewards.
Rising Star worked too, and I saw there was an option to play on mobile which would have probably made it more mobile friendly, but for what I needed to do, the standard web version was enough.
What didn't work for me was Golem Overlord on mobile, and I was disappointed since I have a goal for that game this year. I mean... it is obvious it's not mobile-friendly, but I was going to go over that if it had worked. But I wasn't able to claim my rewards at all because I couldn't validate the Google Captcha for some reason.
Anyway... other than the thing with GO, nothing bothered me, and even that, was more of a temporary set back, because I believe I will achieve that goal this year, even though it seemed quite daring at the beginning, when I set it.
I was pleasantly surprised by the Keychain app which I haven't used in a while. I could find and launch pretty much any Hive app, tool or website I needed with a simple browse or search. What I have to mention here was that some websites "broke out of frames" occasionally (not sure if that's exactly what they did, but the effect was similar), and I had to relaunch the app to be able to switch between browser windows again.
I preferred to stay very little connected, a few minutes a day, and it turned out I didn't have the patience to go through my feed either, except a bit in the first day. So... I was in luck for curation trails that kept my VP from staying at 100%. Thanks for all the manual curators out there who did this (often) hard work while I was away.
It'll likely take me at least a few days to get up to speed with everything. It's great to take a break once in a while, but so is coming back! Well, maybe after the hard catching up period...

welcome back. I think its weird that golem overlord has issues on mobile.
Thanks. Yeah, it needs a total redesign to become mobile friendly. Possibly that would fix the issue I had with Google Captcha.
Welcome back! Taking a break is definitely needed every now and then, I mostly use Ecency and Hive Keychain also for Hive activities on mobile. The former gets the job done for social activities while the latter does the financial aspect. So far, haven't got any major problems with either.
Thanks! Yes, I believe that's a good combination. But when you need access to more tools, apps and games from the ecosystem, sometimes you run into minor or more significant issues, depending on how mobile friendly they are.
Welcome back. It didn't seem like you were gone, and that's probably because you kept on popping in and out while you were gone.
I'm mostly focused on Ethereum and not Hive or SPS, why? I think nothing innovative has happened with Ethereum so far, so I wanted to know if it'll still propel the alt season, or if something entirely will. So it's looking like it will, although I still want to see it at 3k or 4k and this by all means will signal that other alts (with good projects) will pump. Although we might need to wait till maybe June or July to see Eth at 4k
It's good to see you can take a short break without major disturbances. Of course, I knew and planned for it for a good while now, it could have been more obvious had it happened unexpectedly.
Yes, it's too soon to think about an alt season. We might have a pull back to test the uptrend before going higher too.
I prefer to work on a PC with a big screen, but I do a fair bit of Hive stuff on mobile. Ecency and Keychain are the main tools for that. I probably need to dive deeper into what Keychain can do.
If I wanted to stay more active on Hive on the content side during my days of absence, I would have installed Ecency app. Notifications would have helped a lot. But for my needs, using Keychain and websites in its browser was enough. Of course, if a site is not mobile friendly, or some features don't work well on mobile, that's another thing. And devs should keep in mind to have decent mobile friendly websites and check their features on mobile (although it's not easy to do that with so many OS versions, screen sizes and mobile models).
People really have to think about making everything work on mobile these days. I don't do much web work, but I have done the odd course.
I've used Ecency for years and it keeps improving.
I started to use it more these days. Usually to upvote and reply to comments, especially if they aren't from my current post.
Keychain mobile app is pretty good, normal browser is bad for hive stuff except risingstar with the convenient link... And hivesigner is not really the best to use
The only thing I played in normal browser was Moon. But I did it using a pass and username, not logging in with my Hive account, even though I have one linked.
