Today I met up with my friend @ismaelgranados and we went to explore the city. We hadn't seen each other for a few days and we took the opportunity to catch up with each other and explore the city cemetery for a while.

My friend had never entered the cemetery in Táriba. I confess that I was a little surprised, but now that I think about it I don't remember having visited the cemetery in the city where he lives, so he owes me the tour.

This is a very gloomy place indeed. Even the trees look sad and gray. Ismael told me that it is amazing how nature adapts to the environment and the reflection of that was the petrified and leafless trees. The green is absent.

The tombs with their marble sculptures, blackened by the inclemency of the weather. Some with dried flowers and without tombstones. We walk among the tombs until we reach the end of the holy field where we find the cemetery of the poor. It seems that the social cases are labeling us even after death.

We continued walking and there was (paradoxically) the cemetery of coffins inside the cemetery. Stacked at the back of the cemetery, as if no one cared, were hundreds of coffins rusted and destroyed by the time that passes without mercy.

I stopped for a moment to take pictures and commented to Ismael that the coffin and funeral processions are one of the most expensive things that exist and for what? To go back to being simple tin cans and dirty pieces of cloth. This was very depressing. I learned that after several years, the graves in the cemetery of the poor, which bury the urns directly in the ground, are emptied and the bones are taken to the common grave.

We talked a little about what we preferred, whether to be buried in a cemetery or to be cremated. I told him that being buried in a grave would be like tying the family to a commitment to be visiting the grave and bringing flowers. The best, for me, without a doubt, is cremation and having the ashes grow a tree.

It is not a very pleasant subject, but death is part of life and in this changing world it seems to me that cemeteries will remain in history, although many people defend the idea of being buried underground. So the passage of time will tell.

The truth is that I am not one of those who agree to bury a person in a cemetery, that is to say that I think the same as you, in fact I do not even like to visit these places.

It is better to have the person in the memory and that their dust travels through the most beautiful place where they would have liked to arrive....

I admire you for having the strength to take those pictures. Even so, this is a good reflection since you are showing us the conditions in which the cemetery is located, and the people with less resources are even worse off, this reaffirms that it is better not to do it, not to bury people. Although the opinions of others are respected.

Hugs...

Great pictures my friend, it was nice to know this cemetery and to watch the tomb of your grandmother. it was a good talk we had. Well i can give you a tour at the cemetery near of my house. it is pretty interesting.

Hello friend, what an interesting post, very good photos, but all the cemeteries are not so gloomy, I live very close to the Necropolis of Colón and visiting it is almost a luxury, it has works of art of incalculable artistic and historical value.

The only time I find myself walking down a cementry is always when someone dies, and it has been a long time, and I don't wish to. But this is something I would rarely do even though I have a cementary around. I am not curious to that extent 😅

Hahahaha crazy. The people were looking at us in amazement and we were taking pictures. It was crazy. Thanks for visiting my publication and for the support 😊👍🏼
