Intermediate outskirts

First, I'll tell you what I mean by intermediate outskirts. Between the microdistricts of any city there are places where the city limits do not end, but simply there is a move from one district to another. But these places very often look like outskirts, that is, it looks like the city ends here.

There may even be natural boundaries between neighborhoods in the form of a field, forest, river, or railroad.

And around the edges of these places, everything looks like it's the end.

Here I walked along one of the border zones between the 5th microdistrict and Zavokzalny.

And I chose the especially cloudy weather in order to explore the color of the sky.

Now I want to try to figure out what a reportage landscape and a documentary one are.

Yes, there are differences between them, but I still cannot explain it...although I visually feel the difference.

The reportage landscape is most likely intended to reflect any weather conditions or something happening in it.

A documentary landscape is needed for history or for...oh, no, it's all not that!

It's that more simple! A reportage landscape and, in general, any reportage photo, the relevance starts from one hundred percent at the time of shooting and rapidly decreases over time.

And the documentary landscape, on the contrary, only gains this relevance over the years. Well, or the relevance schedule is more or less straightforward, that is, the relevance remains for a long time.

All photos from this post can be considered documentary.

Nobody is interested in this landscape now.

But over time, this landscape may change and then it will be a historical frame.

And by the way, these places may soon change their appearance.

A transport branch will be built here very soon, which may change the adjacent territory.

How to identify a documentary landscape by its appearance? It is as boring as possible, sometimes minimalistic, opposite in plot to the postcard landscape.

But it contains such keys, such a code that you will feel it many times stronger than a bright postcard licked and retouched landscape.

To be continued...
