I had to google 'Safflower', and it's not nettles. Those have some yellow flowers atop whereas nettles are strictly green with barbed edges (viewed close up).

I tend to use my feet to try and crush the damn things, but they can spring back and get you.
I don't even know the real name of this one, and posting some history would give clues to other explorers. There is too much of value to give away a place like this... things get stolen etc..
