Exploring A Warehouse That Has Been Abandoned For 30 Years

Sitting in a downtown Hamilton neighborhood, this factory has sat abandoned for nearly 30 years. When it was built or what it was originally used for is unknown at this time, but it was last used as a moving companies warehouse. Until 1994 when the city acquired the property due to $180,000 in tax arrears.

There was a plan in the late 90s to convert the building into condos that fell through and now it will be demolished making way for a high rise building.

I had explored this building about 4 to 5 years ago and was really surprised to see not much had changed (including there still being a gross homemade adult toy made from a bicycle seat). The retro booth seats and the old elevator shaft were the highlights of this explore, for me.

Looks very much like our northern industrial messes I go in, both inside and out.

We have a lot of them here in Hamilton, it was known for heavy industry until the 90s/early 2000s and has moved away from it. Very similar to a lot of the locations you post, love your work btw!
