The psychics being sacrificed was the kind of story element that drew me into 40k
It’s sorta moral quandary or ok you stop draining Psykers of their energy to keep emperor alive but then all of humanity falls....so makes this grim sorta world that is at least fun to draw in even if horrible to live in lol
