随着世界杯逐渐进入高潮,英国各地的酒吧也人满为患。人们一边喝着冰镇啤酒,一边看球。同时也随着英格兰进入了半决赛,整个国家也都跟着躁动起来。

但是,当你真正进入一个当地酒吧的时候,面对吧台上那一排排花花绿绿的啤酒时,可能就会一脸蒙圈,到底该点哪个???
以上就是我刚到英国时和朋友/同时一起去酒吧时的感觉,彻底不知道该点什么,有些时候能够看到一个自己知道的品牌就像碰到了救星,果断点那个。但暗中观察本地人,他们的选择往往都和我的不一样。
随着出去的次数多了,慢慢的也了解了一些。以下说的未必完全正确,仅仅是我自己的理解。
首先可以通过酒阀区分两大类。酒吧中一般会有两种出酒方式:手柄(Handpumps)或者酒阀(Taps)。
如果通过长木柄手柄(Handpump)来出酒的话,就是传统麦香味道的啤酒。可以说这种啤酒是英国啤酒的灵魂。这种啤酒在酿酒厂未完全发酵便装入木桶,在酒吧的地下室继续二次发酵。气泡完全是自然产生的,非常细腻微弱。同时其温度比冰镇稍微热一点点,大约10度左右。这种温度能让麦芽和啤酒花的香气完全释放。
另外一种则是通过金属管道酒阀(Taps)出酒。这种啤酒都是冰镇的,气泡很足,口感清爽。精酿啤酒(我的最爱)和Lager都采用这种方式。
还有一种不得不提的是爱尔兰黑啤酒Guiness。这也是很多人的最爱。但我对黑啤酒彻底无感。谈不上不喜欢,但绝对不是我的首选。
回到最初的问题。我现在去酒吧的话,如果又当地啤酒的话,肯定要尝试一下。如果没有的话,一般会选择一种没有喝过的精酿啤酒。如果都喝过,就会选择已被自己了解的啤酒。
这边酒吧还有一个好处就是,你可以让酒保把几种啤酒都给你出一小点,尝一尝之后再买。这样就能大概率避坑。

Germany, where I’m from, is definitely a !BEER country. Many breweries proudly advertise that their beer is brewed according to the German Beer Purity Law.
At home, though, I hardly drink beer anymore. But when my wife and I are traveling with our camper, we love stopping at brewery restaurants. For me, a good meal is even better with a local beer that is often only available right there.
I usually ask for a recommendation, even though I already have a general idea of the flavors I like. And when my wife is with me, we almost always order two different beers so we can taste each other's choice. 😊
As for Guinness, I've never really become a fan. It's just a bit too strong for my taste.

It’s fascinating that you mention the German Beer Purity Law. German brewing standards are legendary. That local experience - drinking a beer that literally exists nowhere else but that specific valley or town - is hard to beat.
