11月的颱風 / A typhoon in November

最近人們都在談論話題就是，又有颱風要來了，這個颱風命名為鳳凰颱風，根據新聞報導，11月的颱風是很罕見的，假如這個颱風登陸的話，將是58年來，首個在11月登陸台灣的颱風，而20年來，也只有三個颱風逼近台灣，聽起來，好像蠻厲害的，但是，人們關心的是，颱風來了的話，是否會有颱風假。

除了即將來臨的颱風之外，還有即將來臨的是耶誕節，耶誕節的時間雖然是12月底，但是前一個月就已經在醞釀了，我常經過的廣場上突然矗立著一座像童話城堡的城門，看起來應該是又有活動了，當我走近一看，一位威尼斯貢多拉拉船的船夫，正引領的人們航向未知的國度。

原來為了迎接即將來臨的耶誕節，工人們正在搭建耶誕節主題的裝置藝術，雖然還在趕工中，但是燈光已經點亮了，讓平凡的廣場，變的璀璨動人，我們還不知道主題是甚麼，不過，由於有貢多拉拉船的船夫，所以，可能和水都威尼斯有關，不用多說，已經不少人們在這裡拍照打卡了，

我看著天空，天色漸暗，可以看的出來雲移動得很快，暴風雨前的寧靜總是讓人感到一種說不出的壓迫感，我不確定趕工的工人是否會因為即將來臨的颱風，加固裝置結構，萬一被颱風損毀了現場，不但要加班趕工，還要多花錢修復，不過，風雨總是會過去的，到時候，這座童話城堡般的秘境，將會是附近最閃亮的打卡聖地。

Recently, everyone’s been talking about the same thing. Another typhoon is on the way. It’s called Typhoon Phoenix, and according to the news, a typhoon in November is really rare. If it actually makes landfall, it’ll be the first one to hit Taiwan in November in 58 years. In the past 20 years, only three typhoons have even come close to Taiwan during this month. Sounds kind of impressive, but honestly, what most people care about is whether there’ll be a typhoon day off.

Aside from the approaching storm, there’s another thing on the horizon — Christmas. Even though Christmas is at the end of December, the festive atmosphere usually starts building up a month earlier. The square I often pass by suddenly has a huge structure that looks like a fairytale castle gate. It’s obvious that some kind of event is being set up again. When I got closer, I saw a gondolier — like the ones in Venice — guiding people toward some mysterious new land.

It turns out that workers are busy putting together a Christmas-themed art installation. Though construction is still in progress, the lights have already been switched on, making the ordinary square look dazzling and magical. No one knows what the exact theme is yet, but since there’s a gondola, it’s probably related to Venice, the city of water. Needless to say, lots of people are already stopping by to take photos and check in on social media.

As I looked up at the sky, the light was fading, and I could see the clouds moving fast. The calm before the storm always brings a strange sense of pressure. I couldn’t help but wonder if the workers would reinforce the structure before the typhoon hits. If the installation gets damaged, they’ll have to work overtime and spend extra money to fix it. Still, storms always pass. When it’s all over, this fairytale-like setup will probably become the most eye-catching photo spot in the whole area.
