莲叶挨挨挤挤，满眼的绿铺满水面，盛着阳光，也盛着微风。白莲花从叶间探出头，素净又雅致，有的完全绽放，有的半开着。灵动的小鸟，或停在莲叶上，低头啄弄着叶片，或扑棱着翅膀，在叶间蹦跳嬉戏，为这一池清雅添了几分活泼意趣。

望着这一池碧绿，我却莫名生出些困惑。在传统文化里，白莲象征纯洁无瑕、高雅脱俗，是君子品格的化身。可如今网络上，“白莲花” 却成了虚伪做作的代名词。同一种花，承载的寓意为何如此矛盾？是时代变了，赋予事物的内涵也变了，还是我们在传播中，渐渐模糊了它原本的美好？

Lotus leaves crowd together, a stretch of green spreading over the water, holding sunlight and carrying the breeze. White lotus flowers peek out from between the leaves, plain and elegant—some in full bloom, others half-opened. Agile birds either perch on the lotus leaves, bending down to peck at the foliage, or flutter their wings, hopping and playing among the leaves, adding a touch of lively charm to the quiet elegance of the pond.
Willow branches hang low along the shore. On the wooden boardwalk, some people pause to admire the view, while others use their cameras to capture the tranquility and beauty of late summer.
Gazing at the green expanse of the pond, I can’t help but feel a little confused. In traditional culture, the white lotus symbolizes purity, elegance and refinement, and is seen as the embodiment of a virtuous person’s character. But nowadays, on the internet, the term "white lotus" has become a synonym for hypocrisy and affectation.Why such a stark contrast for the same flower? Has the era altered its meaning? Or have we blurred its original beauty in how we use the term?
