That looks like a great hotel for nearly $200. It would cost much more here for such a room. In the US we have AirBNB which we can get similar experiences. Hotels in the US tend to be quite a bit compared to how little you get. So going with a house rental is always best.
American prices are indeed really high. I used Airbnb to book accommodations when I traveled to Thailand before, and it was quite distinctive.
