I had bought free-range or organic eggs but after I listened to a vegans' talk, I changed to those from farms where male chickens are kept together.
Usually male chickens are killed just after their birth. And the way they are killed is terrible. I watched a video ...
It is not cheap but I feel I'm responsible about this topic. And I know it's not the best solution.

震災があって、ヨーロッパで暮らして、食について以前より考えるようになり、2013年くらいからかな、平飼いの鳥の卵を買うようになりました。ケージ飼いって特に考えないとそんなものかと思ってしまうものの、よくよく考えると小さなケージに1羽2羽、卵を埋めないまま入っているのっておかしな状態ですよね。
平飼いやビオの卵にも課題はあって、知ってはいたものの考えずに消費していました。雄のひよこは生まれてすぐに殺されます。先日ビーガンの方のインタビュー動画を見て、調べてみるとシュレッダーに雄のひよこを投げ入れ流動画が出てきて、消費行動を変えないとと思いました。
幸い雄も一緒に飼っている養鶏場の卵があることを知って、完璧な解決策ではないけれど（卵が産めなくなった雌、食肉の問題はまだあるので）、雄も一緒に買っている養鶏場の卵を買うことにしました。ひとつ60円ほどで、決して安くはないのですが、家族3人一週間毎日食べて21個、1260円って高いかというと出せない金額ではありません。量を減らせばなおさら。
そんなこんなで人生の改善はまだまだ続きます。

But if you will delve deeper into it, you will soon discover some form of cruelty in these practices too. Just take into account the life-cycle and population growth rate for keeping all male chicks & retired layers for their whole 7 years of life time, the free-range farm will soon become unsustainable at one point.
That's how cow-protection brigade thinks in India too. But it became unsustainable at one point and India became the world's leading beef exporter despite ban on cow slaughter! Vegans' stance is "any animal use is animal abuse" and I found it to be very true.
That's right. Animal use is connected to animal abuse. I wonder I can live with sheep in the future and ask them to share their hair for knitting and leftover milk for me to make cheese ;)
I don't think anybody will share / give you voluntarily. Probably,with development of your close relationship and bonding with those guys, you will look for some better alternatives instead 🤓.
