If it weren't evident before that this Government is controlled by the most inept and senseless people in the history of governance, then recent events should have at least give you a hard tap on your shoulder. The President and his cohorts have run the country like it is their pet project and everyone who doesn't fall in line is either picked up by the DSS for "questioning" or mysteriously gets missing.
....the real threat to my safety is the Government
When Corona set in and serious countries blessed with human beings as leaders were putting effort into alleviating the suffering of their citizens, I prayed to God that it never got into Nigeria. Time and time again, these so-called leaders have proven to us that the real threat to our safety isn't some virus but their ineptitude, negligence and shortsightedness. It is absolutely frustrating.
The number of cases has grown exponentially in the period and lockdowns without any actual provision for the populace made available. People that normally live hand to mouth have seen their businesses and means of livelihood halted or destroyed by Government officials who constantly misinterpret the law, use violence and absurd rationale in dealing with situations

Take the armed forces who are ideally meant to protect the lives and property of the populace; I doubt you'll find up to 100 people that think those twats know what they're doing. In their attempt to "enforce" the lockdown, there have been numerous incidents covered in newspapers about the police gunning down unarmed citizens that they swore to protect
Very convinient fire outbreak
As if that isn't bad enough, there was a fire outbreak in the Accountant General's office a few days ago. Now I know you'd say that politicizing a fire incident is "unfair", consider the fact that we're being run by the most opaque and deceitful leadership in our history. It is hard to not feel like we're being played. You can find out more about the incident here
I take no pleasure in saying bad things about my country but I have to call it as it is. I am sick of the obvious lies and propaganda, with toying with people's lives, politicking over security and negligence of welfare. I'm tired.
