"Back when an ice cream sundae cost significantly less, a ten-year-old boy visited a hotel coffee shop and sat at a table. In front of him, a waitress placed a glass of water.
'What does an ice cream sundae cost?'
'#100,' the waitress said.
The young youngster took his hand out of his pocket and examined the amount within.
He inquired, 'How much is a dish of plain ice cream?' There were a few customers waiting for a seat now, and the waitress was getting a little irritated.
'#60, she stated flatly.
The small child counted the pennies once more. He said, 'I'll have simple ice cream.'
The waitress delivered the ice cream, placed the bill on the table, and left. The young man finished his ice cream, paid the clerk, and walked away.
When the waitress returned, she began wiping off the table, then gulped hard when she saw what she had seen.
Her gratuity was #60, nicely put near the empty dish."
