I think there is a tag people should use on their intro post. It used to be #introduceyourself and I think it still is. Hivers who are looking to find people who are new to Hive go to this tag to find them.
I think it's a good idea to have your first post be an intro post. But if you're not ready for that on day one, you can read and comment others' posts and follow people you like.
