I understand where you are coming from and you are right. We ought to support each other. I do so in my little way. There are many things I do in the background that most people don't know and I don't sing my praise.
However, I will also like to come from the angle not of not just thinking about what they community can do for you but what you can do for the community. For instance, I earn nothing from doing this. Absolutely nothing. After working here, I still have to support other projects I belong to. It is not an easy feat. However, I believe if we can grow the community to the point where it is support everyone who contributes meaningfully then we should. We should play the long game.
I see the vision and I hope I am selling it to everyone who has read this post. There is so much we can do. But we need to grow first
I am already in from the moment I read your post. It's just that some of us still feel that those Nigerians who have made it real big here are not supportive enough.
I have seen Pakistanis and other nations, like the Americans, help each other grow very fast and earn enough to make them want to belong to that community.
No body want to be in a place where they are not making any profitable progress.
Well, if that's what Nigerians are looking for then I don't think I can help them. My upvote would barely get anyone dollar. And I don't think there is any Nigerian on hive who can give you 1 dollar if he or she upvotes you. So this narrative about Nigerians not helping other Nigerians is false. There are very few people here that can say they've not benefited from my influence directly or indirectly.
Also lets think more about what we can do individually and collectively to help and not worry about what other people are not doing. If i was thinking that way i probably would not be here trying to rally people together. I benefit little to nothing from doing this but i do it anyways because i want to help in my little way.
