To my beautiful Hivers worldwide, I'm Philips(captainphilips on various Dapps) and I reside here in the most noisy and bustling city of my country Lagos Nigeria West Africa. I made my first introduction post back in March 2017 while we are still on Emperor Justin's Platform Steemit, I never did my Hive Intro post after our Exodus here. Thankfully; I got an opportunity to do that in this initiative by @theycallmedan in this post:

I am not a Nigerian prince to start with, Contrary to what the media must have said and what you might have read about Nigeria, there are hard working youths around and people legitimately hustling for their up keep, we ain't all Nigerian Prince once again.

I'm almost in my mid 30s, single and searching for love, if I get one and maybe I get lucky to have an interracial family. I'm a private Hauler but seems I'm out of business thanks to the long pandemic. I am an Electronics and Telecommunications Engineer, I was supposed to be a Specialist in Radio Frequencies, but I was one of the unlucky ones in the job markets after my last job as a Remote support Specialist with a software company in the heart of my city.

I'm a Nature freak, wildlife, animals, pets, birds gives me joy, also in a few conspiracy realist groups and a "hopeful diverse Crypto Enthusiast". I made some money in the late 2017/2018 massive Bullrun but lost it in bad investment and off the chain business venture I entered into. Most of my business capital came from investment from a seed Capitalists and years of Blogging on the Steem Blockchain. So I understand how blogging and earning works on dapps to some extent, I have also been a self appointed ambassador for steem, and I have an offchain relief Group know as @steem-lagos. It is not active for now due to lack of funds to continue our abandoned outreach and relief programs.(I'll tell you all about some of our projects in due time). Maybe I'm not so techy, but my background in Telecommunications, Softwares and database management made me embrace the Blockchain easily and perhaps a bit late back in late 2016. I love physical fitness, going on adventurous trips and playing computer games. One of the things I missed in my former job was Travelling around the country as a Remote Support for a software educational database company.

Basically I have travelled to almost all the States of my country except a couple out of the almost 40 states. One thing I like is the road trips and turbulent local flights, then the different cultural delicacies of each state I have been to. Its very easy to spot a city fellow in most states up North my country, cos the look is always pronounced. For the adventure part, a state called Plateau State with its capital call Jos is my favorite, there are amazing cheaper food and fruits compared to where I reside. The Country's Capital is another place I love so much, it was well planned, not as congested as Lagos where I reside and the massive road networks makes driving super cool in Abuja the Federal Capital Territory.

The massive cultural diversity of my country makes it very interesting, it could be daunting to relate with someone who doesn't understand your language but its fun for me as I love to learn new languages anywhere I travel to, even though i have a "thick tongue" that is, I don't pick up a new language quite easily. Another reason I love and miss my other job is the different landscape out of the city, so many hills and mountains to climb. Rivers to swim(I'm a shitty swimmer but I'll survive if there was a flood) and several other things to do out of the city. I mean, for anyone who spends hours to and fro to get to work and back home, they will appreciate leaving the city for weeks or even months as I have gone on months long assignments.

My country is quite a nice place to reside aside the constant Insurgent fears and attacks in the North Eastern parts of my country. The economy isn't so favourable too but the Pandemic has made that a global and general challenge. For worth its worth, there's a high rate of religious tolerance as far as I know in many places I have been to. There's also freedom of speech and choice to start up your dream jobs without hassles provided you have the capital to start and sustain it for long should in case some unfavorable policies that affects SMEs comes up from the Government. Beside that, you could do absolutely anything to sustain yourself compared to some countries where there is extreme strict policies.

In that regard, most of us who knows of the disrupting characteristic of the Blockchain embraced it in place of cyber crime, I have been writing and publishing and earning from blogging on the Steem chain since 2017, and I do paid technical reviews for research purposes and all. Unfortunately Steemit is a sad reference based on what is happening with the new owner and his dogmatic approach in a decentralized world.

Nevertheless, I'm happy to be on this Hive and as a member of #HiveNaija. Maybe not an early bird in crypto, but I'll be more happy to grow along with the community as it evolved and I'll do my best to create more awareness for a larger adoption.

Thanks for having me around...
