Hey Folks
This is my song for week 93.
This song is called "Hares on The Mountain".Its a combination of verses from 2 old folk songs "Oh Sally My Dear" and "Knife in the Dark".Both of those old songs have many alternate verses, this tune is a hybrid of both of them which I added my own little fill to using the open A minor harmonic scale.
"Hares on The Mountain"
Oh Sally, my dear, it's you I'd be kissing
Oh Sally, my dear, it's you I'd be kissing,
She smiled and replied, you don't know what you're missing.
Oh Sally, my dear, I wish I could wed you,
Oh Sally, my dear, I wish I could bed you
She smiled and replied, then you'd say I'd misled you.
If all the young men were hares on the mountain
If all the young men were hares on the mountain
How many young girls would take guns and go hunting?
If the young men could sing like blackbirds and thrushes
If the young men could sing like blackbirds and thrushes,
How many young girls would go beating the bushes?
If all you young men were fish in the water,
If all you young men were fish in the water
How many young girls would undress and dive after?
But the young men are given to frisking and fooling,
Oh, the young men are given to frisking and fooling,
So I'll leave them alone and attend to my schooling
Oh Sally, my dear, it's you I'd be kissing
Oh Sally, my dear, it's you I'd be kissing,
She smiled and replied, you don't know what you're missing.

This one feels like a good fit for this week's theme. I think this is the first time I've heard you sing this song. Thought of you tonight as I was out in the country with friends, playing music under the full moon, by a bonfire. We played lots of Celtic music. Fun!
Man I wish I could have heard those Celtic tunes.
I notice Threespeak has a livestream option but I have no idea how well it works. Maybe its something to explore if you can set up a livestream of one of those full moon bonfire sessions that would be pretty wild :)
Yeah this songs a fun one, my version is fairly simple,I guess just the minor harmonic fill would take a little practice.
I based my version of this one which is performed by 2 members of Lankum Dublin
