Hello everyone I welcome you all to hive open mic week 313
I am favourstrings and today I will be sharing a medley of 2 worship songs.
There’s something about worship that undoes me, and these two songs in this medley especially pull me right out of myself and plant me at the feet of God.
The first one is pure reverence. Every time those lyrics hit — "Every tongue in heaven and earth shall declare Your glory, and every knee must bow at Your feet in worship. You are exalted, oh God, and Your kingdom shall not pass away, oh Ancient of Days" — I literally feel myself go weak. It takes me off my feet. Not physically, but in my spirit. I’m reminded that no matter what’s happening in my life, in Nigeria, or in the world, there’s a throne that’s never shaken. A Kingdom that doesn’t expire. The “Ancient of Days” part humbles me. It reminds me I’m worshipping the same God Abraham, David, and my grandmother called on. When I sing it, I’m not just making music; I’m joining a sound that’s already happening in heaven.
Then the song shifts, and so does my posture. The second one is my surrender: "Spirit, lead me where my trust is without borders. Help me walk upon the waters wherever You would call me." If the first song is me bowing, this one is me standing up and saying “yes” with shaky faith. It’s the cry I pray when life feels too deep or the next step looks impossible. It’s me asking God to stretch my trust beyond what’s comfortable, beyond what my bank account, my fears, or my logic says is safe. Every time I sing “walk upon the waters,” I’m choosing to believe that if He calls, He’ll also carry.
Putting them together as a medley tells my whole story: awe first, then obedience. You can’t truly say “lead me” until you’ve seen who’s leading. You bow, then you walk.
That’s exactly why I want to perform this cover for Hive Open Mic Week 313. Open Mic isn’t just a stage to me — it’s an altar we all gather around from different countries, time zones, and stories. And Week 313 feels like the right moment to pour this out. I don’t just want to showcase vocals. I want to create a space where someone else watching from their phone in Abuja, Accra, or Argentina can feel taken off their feet too, and then find the courage to walk on water in their own life.
I’ve been rehearsing this medley in my quiet time for weeks. Sometimes I break down mid-verse because the words are praying me more than I’m singing them. So sharing it on Hive Open Mic is my way of giving it back. To God first, and then to a community that understands what it means to worship without borders.
Song lyrics

Spirit lead me where my fit is without borders help me walk up on the waters when ever you will call me

I love the second song—it brings me peace and hope. I don't know the first one, so I suggest you post the links to the songs so we can listen to them too.
