Hello Hive Open Mic community and my fellow music lovers!
It's another week with a beautiful theme and I'm happy to be here once again to share my song choice for the selected theme by our spotlight artist @alex-rourke

I'm choosing to share the cover of the song titled "The Cat's Meow" sang in the movie "Barbie the princess and the pauper", for the theme of the week "Beautiful Pets".
I must say I felt more excited about this theme compared to other theme because of the spotlight artist and the vibe he gave to get everyone onboard to share a song for his selected theme. His awareness video was beautiful and then he made his entry very early, an original for his dog, Compadre. I commend you Sir, I am enjoying everything about your theme week.
When I saw the theme at first, I thought only those who have pets would enter for this but I am reminded of a song that fits so perfectly for it and I've been relearning it to share the cover. It's a song from an animated movie I saw like ten years ago.
The song is titled "The Cat's Meow" and it's a song sang to a cat that can't "Meow" but barks like a dog instead. The song says a lot about accepting oneself and loving for the cat for who he is. There are some really beautiful lines in the song that made me smile and maybe would make you smile as well.
I won't say I'm not a fan of pets because I've never had the chance to own one but if I were to get used to a pet, it has to be a cute puppy. Not sure what happens when he gets older, maybe I'll get too attached not to let it go in the end haha.
Well, this song is about a cat that acts like a dog but is still a cat in many ways. Do listen to the lyrics closely, it is the reason I chose it for the theme. Pets are beautiful indeed and songs like this are perfect for them to feel assured by their owners.

Hi friend I hope you are very well, to start I must say that I agree with you when you talk about this week's host; his theme is great and the video he dedicated to his dog is very nice, he did it with a lot of love without any doubt.
I liked how you related the song to the theme and hey, I hope you can enjoy the company of a pet, it feels great, I had several years ago, but after they passed away I decided not to have any more, it's hard not to get attached to them.
The song you share with us is beautiful and I liked how you sang it, because your voice was heard with a lot of sweetness, the same one that particularly has these movies with musicals.
