Oh, I am happy that it was just a misunderstanding :) I understood that it was your personal worse year in your life, but good it was not!! Just mediocre, with a lot of grateful moments, it is then more than bearable! Actually, great then :)
I know, yes, many things are around that are maybe not promising a good future for the mankind. I try to cut away the news and all what is giving fear or unnecessary struggle, and read/hear just the minimum I need to know. Someone would not understand it, say that I am ignoring the things, but that is my way to stay "sane" for my family, friends, and people I get in touch with.
