🎵Hi Hivers! Today I am with you again to share with you my participation in the Hive Open Mic in its week # 61, for whose theme, which is Retry, I decided to do this little cover of Surrender, originally performed by the singer and songwriter Natalie Taylor. I know that the title does not seem to have much to do with the subject, but in reality I think that these two words are closely related, at least from my perspective remembering some experiences in the field of love, from which I learned a lot, and the lyrics of this song brought back those memories.

🎼Hola Hivers! Hoy estoy con ustedes nuevamente para compartirles mi participación en el Hive Open Mic en su semana #61, para cuya temática, que es Retry o "Reintentar", decidí hacer este pequeño cover de Surrender, de la cantautora Natalie Taylor. Sé que el título no parece tener mucho que ver con el tema, pero en realidad creo que estas dos palabras están muy relacionadas, al menos desde mi perspectiva recordando algunas vivencias en el ámbito del amor, de las cuales aprendí mucho, y la letra de esta canción me trajo esos recuerdos.

🎵Why do I think these two words have something to do with it? Well, on that occasion I had to give up, give up an idea, a way of doing things, give up fighting and trying with the same person. I had to give up trying to start over from scratch with the one I wanted, because I realized that I didn't have to ask him for a second chance, nor did he ask me. We ourselves were the only ones who could give ourselves a new opportunity, to heal and move on, each on their own alone, or by loving again and building a more beautiful and healthier relationship.

🎼¿Por qué creo que estas dos palabras tienen algo que ver? Pues en aquella ocasion tuve que rendirme, desistir de una idea, de una manera de hacer las cosas, desistir de batallar y de intentarlo con la misma persona. Tuve que desistir de tratar de volver a empezar desde cero con quien yo quería, porque me di cuenta de que una segunda oportunidad no tenía que pedírsela a él, ni él a mí. Nosotros mismos éramos los únicos que podiamos darnos una nueva oportunidad, de sanar y seguir adelante, cada uno por su cuenta en solitario, o volviendo a amar y construyendo una relación más bonita y más sana.

🎵I think that a relationship of many years can deteriorate for various reasons, and at that point it may be necessary to raise the white flag, stop fighting, stop insisting on the same thing over and over again, stop fighting by pulling both ends of the rope , put aside pride and selfishness and just let go ... 🎼Pienso que una relación de muchos años puede deteriorarse por diversas razones, y llegado ese punto quizás sea necesario sacar la bandera blanca, dejar de pelear, dejar de insistir en lo mismo una y otra vez, dejar de luchar halando los dos extremos de la soga, dejar a un lado el orgullo y el egoísmo y simplemente dejar ir... Para después poder pensar con más claridad y decidir si ambos quieren y pueden volver a intentarlo de una manera completamente distinta y nueva, juntos o por separado.
