Yes its a bit of a strange film really. The kids all get removed in quite worrying ways...but then I think that was the kind of writing trait that gave Dahl the edge. Kids seem to love anything a bit gruesome.

Matilda was the first long book we read to our daughter (appropriately) and she enjoyed the others. I've not seen the new film of that yet, but Netflix have the rights to all the books, so expect more.
There's a new Willy Wonka film out soon. Ages ago there were Wonka vans parked by Cardington Hangars, so I'm not sure what that was for.
