Hive Openmic Week 63 Storyteller
This song is from 1840 and tells a re occurring story that we still tell today . A story of land rights and protests . here is a link to a scan of an an early document referring to the song, written after the repeal of the corn laws, and a conversation between Bill and Jack. A conversation that tells of the lies told to people by parliament and the factory lords. Chumbawumba recorded the song in the 80's on there album "English Rebel Songs 1381–1984 ". @audiohive-me and I where reminded again of this song when, fortunately for us, the Winborne singers, came to our town to perform.
