Hive Open Mic week 284 // \\ Heart of Worship (covered)

Hey everyone, it's week 284 of Hive open mic, and I'm so happy to be here. I'm doing a cover of Heart of Worship by Matt Redman.

This song is more than just music. It's like a way of showing you're giving yourself to God, being humble, and feeling close to Him. When I think about what it means, it really hits me hard. It reminds me that worship isn't just about songs or instruments. It's about giving everything you are to God with real honesty. The lines, “I bring you more than a song, for a song in itself is not what you have required,” remind me that God doesn’t need empty shows. He wants what’s real and a heart that’s all His, a life that shows Him off, even when you're not in church.

Listening to this song always brings me back to the fact that worship isn't about me, my voice, or how I feel. It's all about Jesus. The words, “I’m coming back to the heart of worship, where it’s all about you, Jesus,” they just cut through everything. I love this part because I sometimes get caught up in singing and clapping without really thinking about it. This song tells me to stop and focus, to get back to just loving God, with my eyes on Christ.

It reminds me that God sees way more than what I do. “You searched much deeper within, through the way things appear; You’re looking into my heart.” That line tells me that even when I don’t feel good enough, God cares more about my heart than if I do everything perfectly. It shows me that real worship isn’t about trying to impress anyone but about letting my heart connect with Him in truth.

When I sing this song, it breaks down my ego. It reminds me to be humble and remember that God is the only one who deserves all the glory. It gets rid of selfishness, reminding me that what I want doesn't matter as much as what He deserves. When I pray, this song helps me feel closer to God because it makes room for being real. I don’t need to hide behind music; I can just tell Him how much I love Him.

What's cool about this song is how it resets what’s important to me. Life gets loud, but when this song comes on, it’s like hitting a reset button, bringing me back to Christ. It tells me that no matter what’s going on, worship helps me remember God. It’s like a fresh start, where I let go of worries and remember that it’s all about Him.

Basically, Heart of Worship changes how I see my relationship with God. It takes my eyes off myself and helps me be real with God. It helps me because it tells the truth: worship isn’t about songs, it’s about giving yourself to God. It’s not about people; it’s about Jesus. Each time I get what it's saying, my heart feels new, my faith gets stronger, and I love Christ more.

The song, the lyrics and your voice, nuanced with the sound of the guitar, you get a very beautiful result.
Your humility speaks to us in this sincere reflection.
A warm embrace in the distance.
