Greetings music friends! Open Mic reached week 55, Declaration week. With this proposal I want to interpret with you a song from Venezuelan folklore entitled "El Alcaraván".
Originally by Simón Díaz, this song tells us about the famous Venezuelan myth that when this bird flies over the town it is a sure statement that one of the girls in the town is or will soon become pregnant.

The parakeet in the field,
the gourd in the corral
and even the rooster cleared his throat
when an animal passes.
There in my town
when a curlew passes,
the girls are scared
by the kiss of the morichal.
The dog of the house
gets up and goes there,
over there, out
because he doesn't like to fight.

small coffee at morichal,
and that Pedro in the cornfields
your ears were bursting.
And that night the moon
she got pretty, clear,
that even Pedro is scared
if any curlew passes.
¡Saludos amigos de la música! Open Mic llegó a la semana 55, la semana de Declaración. Con esta propuesta quiero interpretar con ustedes una canción del folclore venezolano titulada "El Alcaraván".
Original de Simón Díaz, esta canción nos narra sobre el famoso mito venezolano de que cuando vuela esta ave sobre el pueblo es una declaración segura de que una de las muchachas del poblado está o quedará embarazada próximamente.
