Just a quick update from me about the ongoing task of building new-app.
The first, I am 99% sure that I have settled on a name! This is yet to be revealed, though a few people know it by know, and it's quite easy to find out 😂
I’ve been focusing on the article creation experience. I want this to be the go-to Hive frontend with a seamless Web2 feel, so the actual writing process needs to be buttery smooth.
Here is what I’ve been wiring up and adding to the editor over the last few days:
Autosave drafts
Create templates
Schedule posts (currently being tested)
Link optimization
HTML block rendering

I added autosaving because there is nothing worse than losing your masterpiece (or the attempt for one) to a sudden browser crash or a refreshed tab. Or a freeze. I am yet to experience one on my own UI, but I'm sure it'll come eventually. Seems like most Hive frontends experience it at one point.
If you run recurring posts like lotteries, weekly updates, or anything else that has similarities, you can now save templates to speed up your workflow. These can, of course, be updated/edited. When wanting to use it, simply just use it. It could also work great as a footer - but I'm thinking about adding 3 different footers/signatures as I believe there are multiple usecases for signatures in different cases. But for now, it's only in my head (and on text here now too) and I stuck with the templates.
[b]Scheduling posts[/b] is a big one that I am actively testing [i]right now[/i].
You will be able to write your posts on a Sunday and have them posted at any given time throughout the week. At least, that's the goal 😂On the technical side, I squashed some bugs where certain links were rendering weirdly, so everything should be looking clean and clickable now. Finally, for the power users who like to get fancy with their formatting.

The alpha version is coming along nicely, piece by piece. The goal is to make publishing on Hive feel completely effortless and create a place for all users where they [b][i]want[/i][/b] hang out.

Nice. Finally, things are shaping up and we can have another UI to try out.
That auto save feature is very necessary, no one would be happy to loose their draft, nah!

I think there's a lot of UI's popping up these days. But I believe this is one of the more well-thought-out ones.
From other frontends it looks weird when I use the formatting for my shortcode 🤣🤣
