SpendHBD as a project has its many aspects but getting more people to accept and use our stable coin us as important as any other thing else. The more people get on board, the more users and usecases there are. So while I plan and implement some marketing projects for this 2025, mentorship still remains a priority. So yesterday, I helped two new friends learn about Hive and SpendHBD. They are as excited as anyone else.
Welcome onboard @extragrace and @onyiigift
The two new friends were invited by @ebonymama to my office and they came with her too. All of them are colleagues working at Aba North Local Government secretariat. They arrived my office at 11 in the morning and were eager to learn about Hive and SpendHBD. Coincidentally, @iamchimary was there too. Together, the newbies had the opportunity to learn about Hive as a blockchain, social media and cryptocurrency.
The friends had no knowledge of crypto, but I was able to explain in ordinary term what it is and why they should get involved. I made it clear that Hive as a platform is unique in many aspects, especially in the reward for creativity. Then I also explained the communities aspect and how Hive is helping people all over the world to connect with communities and pursue their passion.
Then I explained the most basic Dapps they need to learn about like Ecency and Hive keychain. Then very important aspect especially as they came prepared for Shopping is to let them know how to use distriator app to claim discounts after paying with HBD. They were able to learn that very fast as it was not really difficult. Of course, I had used the SpendHBD signup page to create accounts for them.
Once I was sure they have grasped the whole thing, it was time to leave for shopping. I gave them the SpendHBD branded bag and Hive exercise book. We took pictures at my office before we left as you can see them below.
At Gods Own Supermarket
I took the newbies and other friends to Gods own supermarket to have their first shopping experience. I had to go because they need to practice in real time how to pay with HBD and claim discount. Gods Own supermarket is just a walking distance of 3 minutes from my office. We got there in no time.
The newbies were happy to do shopping there and it was not difficult to see what to buy. The supermarket has enough on display. Each person paid with HBD and claimed discount. Ofcourse. It was a great experience for them. Before they left, we took pictures as seen below.

More mentorship is needed
The newbies definitely need more than few hours to learn about Hive as a platform. So going forward, I will schedule a day in the week when newbies will come and learn more about Hive and Web3. I think I will also start doing Hive tutorial videos so that it will be super easy to learn online and at each persons own schedule.
I feel bullish about SpendHBD and will go to aby lengths to drive Hive mass adoption through this project. This looks like a huge and worthwhile project, doesnt it?

It was an extraordinary experience, the newbies was excited after they have been tutored and excited to shop. The excitement on the faces was amazing. And i benefited as well though old, but new😂

Mentorship is really needed in helping newbies to understand Hive blockchain, hive key, ecency even to make their first post on Hive. I know what it takes to guide them, I'm just seeing how long it took to even go for shopping.
