Spend to earn is almost becoming a lifestyle for my small, but rapidly growing group. We do it within the week, at weekends and even on a Monday like this. Whether large or small, we have fun shopping together and getting discounts as we pay with HBD. Today is just another day and we all went to Gods Own Supermarket to buy groceries. At the end of the day, we have done 10 transactions and spent 29HBD.
Mentoring a newbie @emmy30
As usual, we have new people joining the movement regularly. Our friend today was @emmy30 who was invited to join our group by @debbydaniels. They arrived at my office and the newbie was really eager to learn about Spen dHBD and Hive. I took my time to explain what Hive is and why its more than just a content publishing platform. I helped to explain how curation works on Hive, the rewards structure and the not small issue of freedom and content ownership.
Then I explained the SpendHBD project and how it is leading a revolution that everyone that everyone should be part of. The newbie was really excited and actually couldnt believe that earning has become as easy as spending crypto. Once he has gotten the fundamentals, I went ahead to assist him to get a Hive account using SpendHBD signup system. @debbydaniels helped him to download Hive Keychain and Ecency apps from Playstore.
Once the account was created, the newbie was helped to sign in to his device and set up his profile too. Then it was time to learn how to scan. I generated a demo QR code and showed him where to click to activate the camera from inside keychain. He learnt it so fast and was surprised how simple it was to scan and pay. Then I also explained how to claim discount from distriator app which was also not difficult to master. At this point, he was ready to shop. Before we left, the newbie bought NGN2000 worth of HBD which he would use to shop.
Before we left, I gave the newbie a spendHBD branded bag which he would use to shop at the supermarket. We then took pictures together at my office as you can see below.
Shopping at Gods Own Supermarket
Gods own supermarket is very close to my office. So it is always easy to walk down there with a newbie to let them have their first experience shopping there. Of course, there are other older members that cane around to shop and have fun today. They include @bakinba, @iamchimary, @alwaysonyi, @go-well @positivity49, including the newbie and the person that brought him.
Once we are at the supermarket, everyone had to pick one or two things they want to buy. One interesting thing about Gods own supermarket is that they have a variety of goods to choose from. Most important is that they really have competitive pricing. I made sure to help the newbie remember how to scan, and also taught him to claim discount.
The older member of the house also shopped and got their own discounts. At the end of the day, we had spent a total of HBD. It was fun and we were all happy to see each other. Taking photographs is what we do for fun and creativity. We took many of them as you can see below
Looking ahead down the week
The year is almost running out and I still have a few things planned out. I hope to visit some of the businesses listed earlier to help more of their customers sign up and start claiming discounts. This is a new thing for many and they need constant support to understand and utilize it. So I will make sure they start taking advantage of this idea to grow their business.
I also hope to finish planning a new idea to promote spendHBD. Details of that will be made known soonest. It would be nice too to list at least one new business this week. ShokiN is another thing I hope to arrange ahead of the weekend. Its going to look a busy week for us. I hope it all goes as planned. I thank all our friends for supporting spendHBD. I always feel bullish about this project and am sure you feel that way too. So lets do more to get the word out to everyone. Lets do it!!!!!
